Laser Cavity Detection

Laser dentistry is one of dentistry’s latest advances. By using lasers of different wavelengths, this technology can be used for many purposes in dentistry. Our practices offer specialized cavity detecting laser equipment. Traditionally, dentists would use an explorer to physically “feel” for soft or sticky areas signifying dental decay. Now laser technology allows us to detect and measure small changes in the degree of demineralization (“decay”) of teeth, to determine whether or not the extent of dental decay actually warrants treatment.
